"Bugun Hewal Viyan Peyman'i sehit verdik, R.I.P 06.04.2015 Serekaniye/Syrie Viyan Peyman passed away today. I met her in Kobani last December. At that time she was recovering from a wound. She had been injured in a conflict with IS (DAIS), one month before. She was one of the commanders of the front in Kobani. Viyan has always fought bravely against IS. With her voice, Viyan Peyman gave courage and strength to her comrades. She was a singer but because of the war in her beloved country she could not do anything else than protecting people. She sang elegies, complaining against oppression, against social inequality and against the macho culture. Today we have lost a strong, driven, social and sympathetic person in the war against terrorism. Strength to all of you."
