"Why add another work to the existing mountain of literature on the Celts? Precisely because there is now so much information that we are in danger of forgetting the basics. The work is intended as a guide to Greek and Roman accounts and more importantly to information derived from the thousands of sites and millions of artefacts that archaeologist have excavated throughout mainland Europe. It describes some of the more recent work—the princely tomb at the Glauberg, in Hesse, the fortified estate at Paule, in Brittany, and the huge ritual site at Mormont, in the Vaudois.
