Um artigo de Rafael Taylor sobre a evolução histórica do PKK até os dias atuais.

Sobre o autor do artigo, postado pelo site Roar Magazine:
"Rafael Taylor (is) a libertarian socialist and freelance journalist based in Melbourne. He is also host of the Floodgates Of Anarchy podcast, a member of the ASF-IWA and convenor of the Left Libertarian Alliance Melbourne."

Trechos do artigo:
 Excerpts from the article:
"...In his years in solitary confinement, running the PKK behind bars as his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment, Öcalan adopted a form of libertarian socialism so obscure that few anarchists have even heard of it: Bookchin’s libertarian municipalism. Öcalan further modified, rarefied and rebranded Bookchin’s vision as “democratic confederalism,” with the consequence that the Group of Communities in Kurdistan (Koma Civakên Kurdistan or KCK), the PKK’s territorial experiment in a free and directly democratic society, has largely been kept a secret from the vast majority of anarchists, let alone the general public.

Although Öcalan’s conversion was the turning point, a broader renaissance of libertarian leftist and independent literature was sweeping through the mountains and passing hands between the rank-and-file after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990s. “[They] analysed books and articles by philosophers, feminists, (neo-)anarchists, libertarian communists, communalists, and social ecologists. That is how writers like Murray Bookchin [and others] came into their focus,”...'

Trechos deste artigo do site Breitbart:
' “The PKK is the main reason behind the delay of the Shingal operation,” Qasim Shesho, the head of the Yazidi forces organized to resist ISIS occupation in August 2014, told Rudaw, a Kurdish news outlet. “Let them go and save the Kurds in Syria and Turkey, but we will never let them gain power over Shingal,” he said of the PKK, adding that his forces “do not want to start a fight” with the PKK and “we all have one enemy,” but that the PKK’s desire to “claim that they liberate Shingal [Sinjar]” is hampering their efforts to actually do so.
Bas News, another Kurdish outlet, quotes a Peshmerga commander expressing the same reservations about the presence of the PKK in the region. Sme Bosali claims that his troops halted plans to rid the region of ISIS after a sudden, major move of PKK forces, along with Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG/YPJ), into the region. The move, Bosali claims, prompted ISIS terrorists to litter the region with land mines and move elsewhere.
Shesho is also quoted in the Bas News article urging the PKK to leave, “because their assistance has never been required by the Yazidis.” ...'In http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/11/06/yazidis-peshmerga-pkk-keeping-us-from-fighting-isis-in-sinjar/

"Yezidi commander: PKK main hurdle delaying Shingal offensive" By HÊVÎDAR EHMED 5/11/201

Massoud Barzani, líder do partido KDP, criticara severamente o PKK,
recomendando aos Yazidis e aos Peshmerga que expulsassem o PKK da região mas eis o que Naem Ilya,  a portavoz da Assembleia das Mulheres Yazidis de Sinjar, segundo esta outra reportagem, retrucou a Barzani:

'...Speaking at the press conference, Shingal Yazidi Women’s Assembly Spokesperson Naem Ilyas reacted to the recent developments, saying; “Barzani is calling for the PKK’s leave from Sinjar, instead of giving an account of the thousands of women taken captive by the Islamic State (IS). Yazidi women are not like how they used to be. We will no more remain silent on the injustices and betrayal we are facing. Barzani is gathering a meeting with the aim of driving the PKK out of Sinjar, while our villages are still under ISIS occupation. Barzani and KDP should firstly liberate the captive Yazidi women and our villages.” ...'
