"This Picture Recently Released: If you were a Jew in 1945, this is what it looked like to be liberated from a “death train” on its way to the gas chambers. This image was taken toward the end of war in Farsleben when US troops intercepted the Theresienstadt-bound train and liberated 2,500 people. I love the expression and body language on the girl to the left, who is photobombing this picture. I imagine the same exhilaration was seen when the decree over the Jews was lifted in Shushan many years ago."
