"Rajamani performs his original "Dharisanam" featuring dancers Preya Patel and Bianca Rodriguez.
“Flamenco India” according to Rajamani is not Fusion music. It is a ongoing trend of history, music and culture. For Rajamani it is a therapeutic interpretation of his spiritual connection to his ancestral homeland of India and his connection to the ongoing saga of all immigrant people who survive hardships and create a new nation, home and perception for others to mimic, experience and enjoy.
Flamenco is the fusion music of 14th century southern Spain. 14Th century Southern Spain consisted of Middle Eastern, European, and Romani -Gypsy cultures. “Gypsy Flamenco” created and performed by the Gypsies of Andalusia carries the mystical and passionate genetics of India. The Gypsy or Romani people originally migrated from India arriving in Europe in the 14th century.
With “Flamenco India”, Rajamani enhances the Indianness of Flamenco by adding new rhythmic, melodic and dance concepts not found in traditional Spanish flamenco music. His approach to flamenco is rooted in India's great spiritual values. Rajamani takes his audiences back to the original ancient roots of Gypsy genetics and music starting in the deep mystical lands of Southern India."
